The Turner Grand Concert features a smaller body and waist and also a shallower depth than the more common dreadnought shape. Players often comment on how comfortable an instrument it is to play – whether in a studio, on stage or just sat on the sofa! Incorporating light, smooth bass and punchy mids with great treble sustain the Turner Grand Concert offers just the right amount of punch and volume whilst still remaining ‘open’ sounding.
Featured here is the Turner 42 CE utilising quality tonewoods, in this case a solid spruce top paired with ovangkol back and sides. Ovangkol, whilst tonally similar sounding to rosewood, offers a slightly ‘fuller’ midrange voice and beautiful stripy grain to boot! Always popular amongst Turner Guitars fans, the 40 series are real ‘lookers’ and do stand out from the crowd.
From custom hand scalloped bracing to stylish body binding and concentric-ring rosette decorations, the Turner 40 series are eye catching and exceptionally well built instruments. Offset pearl fret markers and Turner custom solid rosewood bridge complete the aesthetics and when paired with state-of-the-art onboard electronics utilising the Fishman Isys+ system (which includes built in guitar tuner) you know that a true acoustic tone will be delivered either in the studio or when playing live. The grand concert size pairs well with the rich mids of the ovangkol back and sides for a punchy and warm tone with unbeatable clarity, perfect for fingerpicking! This is also enhanced by our use of a 45mm bone nut which offers slightly wider-than-average string spacing.
