The Turner 000 Mid-Size offers the same feel of
its its smaller brother the Turner 00 Size Parlor guitar, but plays
and sounds like a much larger acoustic guitar. A 12th fret neck
join allows easy access to the 12th fret for harmonics and octave
notes. A forward shifted larger treble waist and increased 386mm
lower bass bout increase both comfort and sound from this
traditional shape. The result is a very balanced tone, comparable
to the Turner 00 but with greater volume and dynamic range and
slightly more low-end response.
Featured here is the Turner 40-000 utilizing
quality tonewoods in this case a solid spruce top paired with
'Ovangkol' back and sides. Ovangkol whilst tonally similar
sounding to rosewood offers a slightly 'fuller' midrange voice,
ovangkol has a high end that is not quite as bright as maple.
Always popular amongst Turner Guitar players the 40 series are real
'lookers' and do stand out from the crowd!
From custom hand scalloped bracing to stylish body binding and concentric-ring rosettes the Turner 40 Series are quality instruments. Offset pearl fret markers and Turner 'custom' solid rosewood bridge complete the asthetics.
What a beauty - the colour of the rosewood is dark and deep & looks lovely. The neck is very comfortable indeed and a low action makes it a very easy guitar to play. I love the headstock shape and the 45mm nut width is perfect for me as I fingerpick most of the time. The onboard tuner works great! Model: Turner 72 CE- Bob Smith
